Why It Matters

Evidence informs better decisions. Better decisions improve health.

For practitioners, policy leaders and community partners, the quality of the work depends on the quality of the knowledge behind it. The distance between research and real-world action, between what's known and what gets done, is where outcomes are won or lost.

Practical skills. Credible sources. Learning that holds up in the field.

About Kansas Health Institute

30 Years Informing Kansas Health Policy

The Kansas Health Institute is an independent, nonprofit health policy research and education organization based in Topeka, Kansas. For more than 30 years, KHI has worked to inform policy and improve health across the state, producing trusted research, providing technical assistance, and equipping communities and decision-makers with the knowledge they need to act. KHI Learning is an extension of that mission, bringing evidence-based education directly to the people doing the work.

Our Mission

Turn research into action.

Public health professionals often work in complex, fast-moving environments where decisions must be made with evolving information and limited time. KHI Learning helps bridge the gap between research, policy analysis and day-to-day practice by translating evidence into practical learning.

Our courses help learners strengthen their skills, deepen their understanding of complex issues and apply evidence-informed insights to real-world public health challenges across local, state and community settings.

Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy as to Students

The Kansas Health Institute admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs and other school-administered programs and conferences. Please call 785-233-5443 with any questions.
